Creating in Community
May 27, 2026Hello Creative Heart,
Creativity can feel very personal.
Something we do quietly, on our own.
At the kitchen table. In a notebook. In the in-between moments of our day.
And there is so much beauty in that.
But it can also start to feel a little heavy.
The second guessing.
Not knowing where to begin.
Starting and then stopping.
I’ve come to see that it’s not because we’ve lost our creativity…
it’s often because we’re holding it all by ourselves.
Something shifts when we create in the presence of others.
Not to impress.
Not to get it right.
Just to be in it together.
We soften.
We stay a little longer.
We take small creative risks we might not take on our own.
And those small moments matter.
Because creativity asks us to try.
To explore.
To express something that may not feel fully formed yet.
That becomes so much easier when we feel supported.
This is why I care so deeply about creating spaces where people can come together.
Not to perform.
Not to keep up.
But to feel held in the process.
