Grateful for the Little Things
Oct 30, 2026Some of the best parts of my day would never make it onto a calendar. My son's kitty curling up on my lap in the morning. Noticing something blooming in the garden. A conversation that makes me laugh. Finding a scrap of paper that turns out to be exactly what a piece of art needed.
These are small things, but they make a difference in how I experience my day. Being an artist has given me a lot of practice paying attention. I notice colors, textures, patterns, and possibilities. I'm realizing that the same habit helps me recognize how much there is to appreciate, even on days when I'm worried, distracted, or wishing I'd gotten more done.
I think gratitude and creativity have a lot in common. Both invite us to slow down, look a little closer, and discover beauty in unexpected places. And both remind us that things don't have to be perfect to be meaningful.
I'm especially grateful for the connections creativity has brought into my life. Through Creating with Heart, I've met wonderful people who share their ideas, encourage one another, and remind me why I believe so deeply in the power of creativity to bring us together.
The little things aren't really so little after all. They're often the moments that make an ordinary day special. And the more we notice them, the more we realize just how much beauty surrounds us every day.
