The Power of Play
Jun 18, 2026Somewhere along the way, many of us stopped playing. We became busy. Responsible. Focused on getting things done. And while those things matter, they can leave very little room for curiosity.
Play isn't frivolous. It's how we explore, experiment, discover, and reconnect with ourselves. It gives us permission to try something without worrying about the outcome.
For me, play might look like painting without a plan, arranging flowers from the garden, making a collage, or simply trying something new because it sounds interesting.
The activity itself isn't the point. The point is allowing ourselves to be curious again.
When we play, we often feel lighter. More present. More open to possibility. We stop focusing on whether we're doing something "right" and begin enjoying the experience itself.
In a world that places so much value on productivity, play reminds us that not everything has to have a purpose. Sometimes it is enough to create, explore, and enjoy the moment.
What might happen if you gave yourself permission to play today?
With heart,
Donna
